With electrical engineering the main factor is safety not only while the engineer is fixing the problem but also when they have solved the problem it needs to be completely safe.
The article below explains the different developments there have been over the years and how electrical engineering started as an occupation.
Development of Electrical Engineering
The history behind electrical engineering began around the same time that the electrical telegraph pole started to get publicised.
There are now many different areas that electrical engineering covers but initially it was seen as a profession that dealt with Large Scale Electrical Systems such as power suppliers but electrical engineers now focus on all kinds of areas such as computers and Solar Energy Products.
It was as the years passed and more uses for electricity were found that the Electrical Engineering Industry started to expand and more people entered it as a career.

Careers in Electrical Engineering
There are now many sectors within electrical engineering and each one focuses on a specific area. Some of these different roles include;
- Transport networks, such as rail lines.
- Construction and manufacturing.
- Building work such as lighting etc.
- Power supply, from large power distribution centres to solar electricity panels.
Most people that enter the electrical engineering sector tend to specialise in a certain area but there are some people that will work to have knowledge in a couple of the areas. So they have variation in their work and can then have a more overall knowledge of the whole sector.
There are courses people can take to gain access to the industry but to take these courses there are certain requirements the person taking the course should have usually 5 GCSE's grades A-C minimal.
Electrical engineering is constantly being developed and aiding the advance of other technologies such as those for Renewable Energy Sources. This is mainly for solar power systems as people are working on these to try and make them more economical and powerful so they can be more widely used.
