Civil Engineering is the process of planning, designing, construction, maintenance and management of a physical infrastructure of networks. This will include fixed structures or public works as they are related to the everyday needs of our civilisation.
Civil Engineering in Today's Society
Civil engineering today specialises in the processes that build power stations, bridges, roads and railways that allow access to other amenities with our ever expanding colonisation of this planet.
Civil engineering has developed from simple basic structures taking into consideration the types of terrain and developments into today's technology more advanced and various Architectural Techniques can be implemented in the field.
Civil engineering is the broadest in the Engineering Industry and in fact long before civil engineering the engineering world was divided into two parts, civil and military. Civil engineering was originally defined to be completely independent from Military Engineering.
The US government funding an independent organisation is till parts of the American forces as the corps of engineering. Civil engineering is a name given to include all forms of engineering on all grounds such as a brand name for many related specialities.
Military Civil Engineering
Military Engineering's primary role is to design and construct offensive, defensive and logistical buildings for the field. Other Military Engineering duties involve planning the layout of structures, maintenance of structures, vehicles and equipment, and the disarmament and clearing of defensive and enemy minefields.
A military engineers work is never finished when a troop transport or convoy needs a bridge building, the military engineers will be mobilised to build it using anything they can to make sure a mission is successful within the time limit they have been given.
On occasion military engineers may be required to demolish a structure they designed and constructed. In many armies across the world military engineers are called pioneers or sappers, but in situations where military engineers work amongst the live fire with the rest of their unit they will be classed as Combat Engineers, where they will be required to work faster than usual combining there accuracy with skill making sure the base is fully operational in case of an enemy incursion.
